Peripheral nerve sheath tumour - Schwannoma

Left ankle posterior - medial aspect - swelling - Few yrs. No significant pain. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 55 yrs
Gender: Male

Well-defined ovoid lesion is seen in region of interest.

Size           - 48 x 35 x 28 mm

Location     -  along neurovascular bundle at posterior medial ankle.
                 -  Lesion is inseperable from posterior tibial nerve. 
                 -  Lesion is seperate from tendon, bone , joint.

Morphology - hypoechoic 
                  - Few tiny calcification foci and tiny cysts.

Dopplar         - Arterial as well as venous flow noted.                 

Case Discussion

Surgical excision was done.

Histopathology - Schwanoma.
