Case contributed by Dr Charlie Chia-Tsong Hsu

Presentation

Left frontal headache. Febrile.

Patient Data

Age: 45

Round mass in the left frontal lobe with a hypointense centre on T1 (A) and hyperintense on T2/FLAIR (B and C). Vasogenic oedema surrounding the mass. The rim of the mass is mildly hyperintense on T1(A)  and hypointense on T2 (B) and GRE (image 4). The central core of the mass restrict strongly on the DWI/ADC map (D and E). Post contrast T1 (F) demonstrate thin enhancing rim, which is thinnest on the side facing the lateral ventricle. No evidence of ventricular rupture/involvement.
