(H&E x40)  - Sections from scar showing fibrosis (left 1/3 of picture) and osseous metaplasia. Haematopoiesis was present within the medullary space on higher power.  

(H&E x200) - Uniform tumour cells with rounded nuclei and eosinophilic, partly vacuolated cytoplasm (the latter is a variant finding with oncocytoma cells usually showing uniform eosinophilic cytoplasm).

Macroscopic

Right kidney with well circumscribed tan tumour, 100mm in diameter, in the upper pole. There is a central stellate scar and macroscopic haemorrhage.

Microscopic
