Presentation

Intense shoulder pain with a history of longstanding of seropositive rheumatoid arthritis.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female

Shows multiple intra-articular hypointense foci in keeping with rice bodies and articular effusion. There’s also concentric narrowing of the joint space, osteoporosis and small marginal bone erosion with marrow edema of the humeral head. The rotator cuff tendons and long head of the biceps are normal.
