An irregular, thick-walled air-containing cavity is noted apico-posterior segment of the left upper lobe. The lesion shows irregularly shaped, hyperdense material in the dependent part, suggestive of a detached endomembrane. The lesion is surrounded by patchy areas of consolidation.
Multiple small mediastinal lymph nodes are also observed.
Case Discussion
CT features are suggestive of a ruptured pulmonary hydatid cyst along with an infective/inflammatory process.
