Presentation

56 years-old woman complain about dyspnea at emergency department.

CT Scout showing pleural effusion and mediastinal enlargement.

CT Chest

CT study shows a mass in anterior mediastinal mass left sided with compression of left pulmonary vein. Pericardial and pleural effusions are also seen.

Case Discussion

Mass in anterior mediastinum, left sided and with compression of left pulmonary vein. Thyroid is normal on CT study. There is no sign of calcifications or fat tissue in this mass (mediastinal germ cell tumours).

Pericardial and pleural effusions are also seen.

Posterior proven to be a thymoma.
