Presentation

Swelling in the index finger for the last 5 years gradually increasing in size with new onset pain in a gentleman who is a gardener by profession.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

A broad based osseous excrescence arising from the shaft of the middle phalanx of the index finger with corticomedullary continuity. 

Case Discussion

Turret exostosis, also known as acquired Osteochondroma, is a benign cartilaginous lesion. It is thought to be an unusual complication of reactive periostitis following minor trauma to the hand.
