Unicornuate uterus with non-communicating, cavitating rudimentary horn

Dysmenorrhea

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female

Anteverted, rightwards deviated unicornuate uterus is seen. Small rudimentary horn with its own endometrial cavity is seen. No evidence of communication of this endometrial cavity is seen with unicornuate uterus.

Possible small band of myometrial tissue is seen connecting the rudimentary horn with body of unicornuate uterus.

Unicornuate uterus measuring approx. 21 x 35 x 57 mm (AP x TD x CC).

Rudimentary horn measures approx. 26 x 23 x 22 mm (AP x TD x CC).

Case Discussion

Findings are consistent with a right sided unicornuate uterus with non-communicating cavitating rudimentary horn on left side (class U4a ESHRE classification).
