Uterine dehiscence

Presentation

G6P1. Previous 4 failed early pregnancies. Previous one LSCS. Gestational age 34 weeks. Reduced fetal movements for the last few hours. The left side of the previous LSCS scar region pain for the last few days

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Single live intrauterine fetus corresponding to the gestational age. Normal fetal morphology, normal liquor, and normal Doppler study.

Large defect in the left side of the lower uterine segment at the previous LSCS scar region. Discontinuity of myometrium is present. The thin overlying membrane covers the defect. No amniotic rupture.

No hemoperitoneum.

Case Discussion

A 3rd-trimester scan in a patient with previous LSCS shows a large myometrial defect without an amniotic leak. Emergency LSCS revealed myometrial as well as a serosal defect. A thin membrane covering the defect was part of the broad ligament. No amniotic leak.
