A fish vertebra (or codfish vertebra) describes the biconcave appearance of lumbarvertebrae (espaically lumbar vertebrae). It is seen in patients patients with the following conditions
- osteoporosis
- sickle cell disease.
- hereditary spherocytosis
- homocystinuria
- renal osteodystrophy
- osteogenesis imperfecta
- thalassemia major(rarely)
