Isolated superior mesenteric artery dissection
Case Discussion
This patient presented with symptoms of sepsis with a background history of sarcoidosis. A CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis was carried out due to respiratory distress and abdominal pain. Assessment of the abdomen on arterial phase revealed isolated superior mesenteric artery dissection. Peripheral splenic infarcts can also be seen not directly related to the SMA pathology.
