Presentation
Right knee thorn injury - two days ago. Presented with localized anterior knee pain.
Patient Data
At the site of pain pointed out by the patient, there is a linear echogenic focus (seen as two parallel lines, 6 mm in length) in the quadriceps tendon. No local granuloma formation. Edema in the adjacent subcutaneous plane without collection. Normal echopattern of the rest of the quadriceps tendon. Small volume anechoic fluid in the suprapatellar recess. No fluid in the infrapatellar recess. Normal patellar tendon.
Intraoperative photos show thorn in the soft tissue. It was removed.
Case Discussion
The case shows a thorn in the quadriceps tendon which was surgically retrieved.
