Presentation
Right flank pain with frank hematuria.
Patient Data
Enhancing polypoid masses of the bladder wall with arciform peripheral calcifications, protruding into the bladder lumen and invading the right ureteral orifice with ipsilateral ureterohydronephrosis and delayed excretion of the kidney on CT urography.
A gastric diverticulum is noted (incidental finding).
Case Discussion
CT features of polypoid masses of the bladder wall invading the right ureteral orifice with ipsilateral ureterohydronephrosis, pathologically proven as transitional cell carcinoma (TCC).
Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC), also called urothelial cell carcinoma (UCC) of the bladder, is the most common primary neoplasm of the urinary bladder, and bladder TCC is the most common tumor of the entire urinary system.
