Case Discussion
Osteopoikilosis is a sclerosing bone dysplasia characterized by multiple bone islands. Bone islands develop during childhood and are asymptomatic.
Bone islands are mainly distributed around the joints mostly parallel to bony trabeculae. The appendicular skeleton and pelvis are mostly affected with sparing of the axial skeleton.
On bone scintigraphy, no uptake is found.
Osteopoikilosis is one of the skeletal "do not touch" lesions.
