Presentation
Painful right elbow with an associated numbness of little finger for 6 months.
Patient Data
Focal nodular enlargement and increased signal intensity of the ulnar nerve at the level of cubital tunnel on the PD-FS sequence. Subcutaneous edematous changes are noted at the medial aspect of the elbow joint, superficial to the ulnar nerve.
Chronic lateral epicondylitis with partial thickness tear of the common extensor tendon with a small fluid-filled gap also is noted.
Case Discussion
MRI is an important adjunct to the physical examination for the detection of abnormality of the ulnar nerve in cases of suspected cubital tunnel syndrome.
