Incomplete double ureter

Spot film taken during an IVP shows right sided duplex kidney.
On the right side, the ureters also double and fused at the level of S1 vertebra (seen at 5 min, second image).
There is an 8 mm opacity within the proximal of the left ureter at the level of L2 vertebrae transverse process due to ureteral stone.
Case Discussion
A bifid ureter is formed when there is a duplex kidney with separate pelvicalyceal collecting systems draining into separate ureters which can joint together or open separately into the urinary bladder. In this case, the ureters unite before draining into the bladder at a single ureteric orifice.
