Patient Data

Age: adult
Gender: Female

The case demonstrates the criteria of idiopathic intracranial hypertension:

  • prominent subarachnoid space around the optic nerves
  • papilledema with flattening of the posterior sclera
  • empty sella turcica, enlarged Meckel cave, prominent arachnoid pits within the temporal bone
  • enlarged CSF space around the oculomotor nerve within the cavernous sinus
