Signs of bilateral calcified styloid ligament, more marked in left.
Case Discussion
Patients with stylohyoid ligament ossification are usually asymptomatic. Some, however, can feel discomfort in one or both sides of the throat and neck. When symptoms are attributable to the stylohyoid ligament this is known as Eagle's syndrome.
Skull X-ray axial view can show the severity of the syndrome. whereas CT scan with 3D reconstructions is the suggested imaging technique for visualization of the syndrome now.
