Presentation
Pain in left hip, suspected impingement or labral tear.
Patient Data
Gluteus minimus and medius tendinosis on left side with a partial tear of gluteus minimus tendon and marrow edema in adjacent greater trochanter of left femur.
Mild strain of left gluteus medius muscle at the myotendinous junction.
Left hip joint including acetabular labrum appears normal. No obvious overcoverage of left femoral head by acetabulum or any osseous bump / irregularity along left femoral head is seen.
Subchondral irregularity, sclerosis, fatty marrow change and mild marrow edema along iliac articular aspects of bilateral sacroiliac joints. Mild subchondral fatty marrow changes also seen along sacral articular aspects on either side, likely osteitis condensans ilii. Clinical and HLA-B27 correlation is required to completely rule out possibility of seronegative spondyloarthropathy.
