Oesophagus is markedly dilated probably due to achalasia.
Case Discussion
Achalasia is a failure of organised oesophageal peristalsis causing impaired relaxation of the lower oesophageal sphincter, and resulting in food stasis and often marked dilatation of the oesophagus.
