Mildly displaced vertical fracture line with surrounding bone marrow oedema/bruise is seen through the acromial process middle third portion.
Type II acromion also is noted.
The acromioclavicular joint is unremarkable.
Abnormal intrasubstance increased fluid signal along with deltoid anterior muscle fibres related to muscle strain.
Case Discussion
Isolated acromial fractures are uncommon, accounting for only 8% of scapular fractures.
