Acute appendicitis

Right iliac fossa pain for last twelve hours. Two episodes of vomiting.

Patient Data

Age: 25 Years
Gender: Male

Abdominal examination with a linear probe reveals a dilated (10 mm) blind ended non-compressible tubular structure with hyper echoic walls and no peristalsis. Probe tenderness was also positive. 

Case Discussion

Acute appendicitis is the inflammation of the appendix. Patients clinically present with anorexia, nausea/vomiting and right iliac fossa pain.
