Presentation

Anterolateral ankle pain.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
mri

Hindfoot valgus alignment. Small ankle joint effusion with synovial proliferation. Severe ankle joint osteoarthritis, particularly anterolaterally with complete loss of joint space, subchondral edema and geodes, and marginal osteophyte formation. Mild posterior subtalar joint effusion.

Mild osteoarthritis of the posterior subtalar joint laterally. 

Talar head chondrosis characterized by subchondral geode formation. The remaining joint spaces are preserved. No aggressive focal osseous lesion identified.

Plantar fascia origin with a thickness up to 10 mm, however, only intermediate high signal and no perifascial edema. Normal Achilles tendon insertion.
