Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Asymptomatic old lady for screening mammogram.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
mammography

Mildly dense fibroglandular parenchyma in both breasts. Vascular calcifications and scattered benign-looking micro and macrocalcifications were noted in both breasts. No suspicious soft tissue abnormality, architectural distortion, pleomorphic microcalcification clusters, abnormal skin thickening or nipple retraction is seen on either side. Multiple small benign-looking lymph nodes are seen in both axillae. Multiple tiny calcific densities (likely artefacts) were noted in both axillae.

Case Discussion

BI-RADS 2 mammogram (benign findings). Multiple tiny calcific densities are seen in both axillae which are likely artefacts (the patient had used an antiperspirant before the mammography).
