Artery of Percheron territory old infarction

T1 low, T2 high signal intensity (CSF signal intensity) focal areas are observed in both thalami, which are almost symmetrical, with no diffusion restriction or blooming artifacts, indicating old infarctions. Mild global cerebral atrophy is also noted, along with prominent extra-axial CSF spaces.
Case Discussion
The MRI reveals chronic infarctions in the artery of Percheron territory against a background of mild cerebral atrophy.
