- fracture line through the scaphoid waist with volar subluxation of the distal scaphoid fragment results in a secondary humpback type deformity
- abnormal signal of the scaphoid proximal pole with a low signal on the T1W sequence denotes avascular necrosis of the scaphoid
- degenerative cystic changes along with scaphoid proximal and distal poles
