Benign enlargement of the subarachnoid space in infancy

There is widening of bi-frontal and anterior hemispheric CSF spaces which measures about 8mm without evidence of flattening of underlying gyri.
Posteriorly gyri are within normal limits.
Brain parenchyma appears unremarkable. Grey-white matter differentiation is intact.
Ventricular system is within normal limits.
Case Discussion
Current CT findings and age of the patient are concerning for benign enlargement of the subarachnoid space in infancy (BESS) which is characterized by dilatation of the subarachnoid spaces and is most common in children.
