Case Discussion

Facial and scalp calcified nodules encountered in routine head and facial CT imaging are common, benign, age-related findings and represent a manifestation of primary benign miliary osteoma cutis 1.

Osteoma cutis refers to the formation of bone within the skin 1.

The differential diagnosis is calcinosis cutis, which refers to the deposition of amorphous calcium salts within the skin 1.

Both conditions may be differentiated radiologically and/or histopathologically 1.
