Enhancing lesion in the right middle lobar bronchus.

After six months the patient had worsening dyspnoea.
Right middle lobe atelectasis.
Oval lesion with vivid enhancement in the right middle lobar bronchus with atelectasis of the distal parenchyma. Subcarinal adenopathy.
Bronchoscopy
The tumour population is positive for chromogranin and synaptosine, CAM 5.2 negative for TTF1.
Control after removal of the right middle lobe.
Case Discussion
Carcinoids are tumours that originate from cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system (APUD cells). Most carcinoids appear as a vegetative lesion with endoluminal growth in the large bronchi, the onset symptomatology is often related to bronchial obstruction and may produce atelectasis or obstructive pneumonia.
