Non-contrast CT axial images of brain showing CSF filled cavity between both lateral ventricles extending from genu to splenium of the corpus callosum.

Case Discussion

No evidence of increased ICP was elicited on clinical exam and the child was referred for Neuroimaging by a non-contrast-enhanced brain CT scan.

A note was made of CSF space conforming to the anatomical description of a cavum septum pellucidum.

The cavum septum pellucidum is an anatomical variant of the septum pellucidum that lies between the two lateral ventricles. An associated posterior extension may be seen of the cavum septum pellucidum towards the splenium, called a cavum vergae.
