Expansile multiloculated lucent lesion of the left mandibular ramus with a narrow zone of transition and expansion medially of the cortex. No aggressive features such as periostitis present. No new suspicious osseous lesion demonstrated. The paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are well pneumatized.
Case Discussion
Central giant cell granulomas are benign destructive intraosseous lesions most commonly affecting the mandible. The most common age group at presentation is patients under the age of 30 with a female predilection 1. Due to the slow-growing nature of the lesion, delay in diagnosis is not uncommon 2.
