Case contributed by Rodrigo Encinas-Escobar
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Nausea and vomiting of 1-day duration. CT performed suspecting probable intestinal obstruction.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ct

Cholecystoduodenal fistula, with dilated bowel loops, probably caused by migration of a calculus (gallstone ileus). A small calcification is seen in the gallbladder infundibulum.

Case Discussion

Biliary ileus is an infrequent cause of intestinal occlusion, however, it should be suspected in the presence of a cholecystoduodenal fistula.
