A&E referral following inversion injury

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Chronic venous insufficiency

x-ray

No fracture. The ankle mortice is congruent. Soft tissue swelling overlying the lateral malleolus.

An incidental note is made of dystrophic soft tissue calcification overlying the distal tibia/fibula. Imaging features suggest chronic venous insufficiency.

Dystrophic soft tissue calcification is suggestive of chronic venous insufficiency.
