Hydrocephalus of the lateral ventricles with a 12 mm rounded hyperdense lesion centered on the third ventricle.
Case Discussion
The patient was transferred to neurosurgery and external ventricular drain placed.
Subsequent resection of the lesion demonstrated pathology of colloid cyst.
Colloid cysts are benign lesions typically centered on the foramen of Monro. They are typically asyptomatic, however can present with symptoms when causing hydrocephalus as in this case.
