Complete hydatidiform mole

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Abdomino-pelvic pain. High Beta HCG levels.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
ct

Contrast enhanced axial and sagittal reformatted CT images of the patient demonstrate low attenuating heterogenously enhancing material within the distended uterus. Uterus wall seems to be intact.

No solid component is noted to suggest fetal remnant.

Case Discussion

The CT features are suggestive of complete molar pregnancy (complete hydatidiform mole).

No further sonographic/histological confirmation was available to make the diagnosis certain.
