Cystic bronchiectasis

- multiple thin-walled cystic spaces in the right lung, several of which have air-fluid levels
- the mediastinum and the heart are mildly shifted to the right side
Case Discussion
- bronchiectasis may be caused by a congenital disorder in the bronchi, or it may be acquired, following a chronic infection
- on chest radiographs, bronchiectasis manifests as tram tracks, parallel line opacities, ring opacities, and tubular structures
- CT is surely more sensitive than chest radiography for showing bronchiectasis especially the mild cases
