Presentation

Painless swelling of the posterior aspect of the left chest wall.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female

Bilateral subscapular soft tissue masses, larger on the left with an attenuation value similar to that of the adjacent muscles. The latissimus dorsi and serratus anterior muscles are displaced but not invaded.

CT features of bilateral elastofibroma dorsi.

Elastofibroma dorsi is a benign soft-tissue tumor, located in the infrascapular or subscapular region, bilateral in up to 30% of cases. On imaging, it appears as a poorly defined soft-tissue mass with CT attenuation similar to the adjacent skeletal muscle.
