Presentation
Painless back swelling at the level of the base of the scapula for three months.
Patient Data
A well-defined thin-walled ovoid subcutaneous lesion measuring 34.1 x 13.7 mm is noted at the region of interest. It has a heterogeneous hypoechoic echo pattern. There is posterior acoustic enhancement. There is no evidence of peri-lesional fat inflammation or hypervascularity.
Case Discussion
The ultrasound findings point to an epidermal inclusion cyst.
Epidermal inclusion cysts, also known as epidermal cysts, are common cutaneous lesions that represent squamous epithelial growth within a restricted area in the dermis or subdermis.
