The lateral meniscus shows 'ghost meniscus sign' posteriorly with a peripheral vertical longitudinal tear of its posterior horn and body, flipping into the intercondylar region and lying posterior to the anterior horn.

The flipped meniscus is a subtype of bucket handle tear, where the torn fragment flips anteriorly.
