Gallbladder remnant cholecystitis

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right upper quadrant pain with fever. History of cholecystectomy 4 years prior for acute perforated calcular cholecystitis (surgical report not available).

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Dilated cystic structure at the gallbladder bed in continuity with the cystic duct measuring 45 x 35 x 30 mm with a thick enhanced wall, containing a stone (8 mm) impacted in its distal portion (gallbladder neck) as well as a fluid-fluid level with restricted diffusion of the sediment (most likely purulent content). Edema of the surrounding hepatic parenchyma is noted.

No dilatation of the Intra or extra-hepatic bile ducts.
