Incidental finding on chest CT.

Patient Data

Age: 16 years
Gender: Male
ct

Non-fusion of the lateral ossification centers of the sternal body, giving a honeycomb configuration.

Thoracolumbar scoliosis of right-sided convexity with no vertebral anomalies.

Case Discussion

Honeycomb sterna is a rare developmental abnormality of the sternum. Usually asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during a routine exam of the chest as in this case.
