Presentation

Fever and shortness of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Normal AP chest x-ray.

No pulmonary embolism. Patchy bilateral ground-glass opacity.

Case Discussion

Patchy ground-glass opacity is a non-specific finding, but viral pneumonia was suspected clinically. A nasopharyngeal swab was sent for PCR and was negative for Covid, respiratory syncytial virus, and influenza B but positive for influenza A.
