Small coin in oesophagus, with no signs of perforation or obstruction.
Lateral projection not available.
Case Discussion
This case shows the typical presentation of a swallowed coin in the oesophagus, parallel to the imaging plane. Coins should be differentiated from button batteries, which have a much more sinister disasea course, and can rapidly induce mucosal ulceration and subsequent perforation.
