Intra-sinusoidal odontogenic keratocyst

Presentation

Secondary schoolchild with enlarging right sided facial swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 15
Gender: Female
Modality: CT

Large cyst within the right maxillary sinus with two well developed molar teeth within.

The teeth form the inferior wall of the right orbit.

Surgical biopsy of the left mandible

Modality: Photo

Specimens from a definitive operative procedure confirm an odontogenic keratocyst.

Case Discussion

Uncommon type of odontogenic keratocyst.

Firstly, the cyst being contained within the maxillary sinus.

Secondly, the presence of two teeth in the cyst.

Thirdly, the high position of the teeth forming part of the inferior orbital wall.

The cyst was surgically removed by OMF.
