Heterogeneous area of hypoattenuation within liver segment 2 of the liver in keeping with a hepatic contusion. No active haemorrhage is identified. No parenchymal laceration, capsular or subcapsular haematoma.
Left interpolar region subcapsular haematoma with adjacent fat stranding and fluid. Small volume of perisplenic fluid.
Case Discussion
Intraparenchymal hepatic contusions are less common injuries than lacerations or subcapsular haematomas. This contusion measured up to 4 cm, making this a AAST grade II liver injury.
