Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Widening of the body and posterior horn of right lateral ventricle with focal indentation of septum pellucidum, suggestive of an intraventricular lesion in right lateral ventricle, possibly an intraventricular simple cyst.

mri

There is a sizable intraventricular cystic lesion along the body and posterior horn of right lateral ventricle with slight displacement of the related right choroid plexus as well as the posterior extent of the septum pellucidum and slight asymmetrical dilatation of the posterior horn and temporal horn of right lateral ventricle. The cyst has a clear fluid-like signal with a low signal in T1 & FLAIR and a bright signal in T2. No diffusion restriction, solid component or abnormal enhancement.

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with an intraventricular simple cyst. The thin cyst wall is seen on T2 sequence of the MRI.
