History of falling, subsequent pain, and limitation of abduction in the left thigh.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Male

Displaced comminuted fracture in the greater trochanteric process of the left femur with adjacent muscles and soft tissue swelling.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of the isolated greater trochanteric fracture. This type of fracture usually occurs in young adults and during sports activity.
