Presentation

Primary infertility. History of right fallopian tube surgery.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

The uterine cavity is normal.

Cutoff of contrast material in the isthmic portion of the right fallopian tube with bulbous dilatation of the distal aspect of the opacified portion.

Left-sided fallopian tube with fluid-filled dilatation due to hydrosalpinx.

There is a large loculation of contrast media inferomedial to the left sided fallopian tube following spillage of patent tube related to pelvic peritubal adhesions.

Case Discussion

Hydrosalpinx is a descriptive term that refers to fluid-filled dilatation of the fallopian tube.
Pelvic adhesions are usually diagnosed on HSG by the presence of a loculated spill of contrast medium.
