Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm

Presentation

Chest pain post radiofrequency catheter ablation.

Patient Data

Age: 83
Gender: Female
Modality: CT

Cardiac CT demonstrates left ventricular pseudoaneurysm. Myocardial defect is located in the lateral wall in close proximity to mitral valve. Loculated haemopericardium and sliding hiatus hernia are also noted.

Case Discussion

Pseudoaneurysms represent free wall rupture of the left ventricle contained by adherent pericardium. Postsurgical pseudoaneurysms are as common as postinfarction.
