Severe necrotising infection of the floor of the mouth with enhancing collection containing air and fluid extending into the parapharyngeal spaces and inferiorly into the anterior neck. Multifocal narrowing and submucosal oedema involving the hypopharynx and larynx.
Case Discussion
Very severe presentation of a necrotising floor of mouth infection with abscesses extending along the anterior neck and into the parapharyngeal spaces. The degree of airway compromise is very alarming and this patient should be considered for prophylactic intubation.
